Group exhibition Bucharest Photofest – Sony World Photography Awards

In perioada 12 – 20 septembrie, la Teatrul National Bucuresti, in cadrul Bucharest Photofest, vor fi expuse 30 de fotografii premiate si finaliste la Sony World Photography Awards 2016. Printre fotografii se numara si lucrarea fotografei Cristinei Venedict, castigatoarea premiului national pentru Romania, la editia din acest an a premiilor Sony pentru fotografie.

Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition

My images will be part of the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House, London from 22nd April - 8th May and will be published in the annual Sony World Photography Awards book.

Bringing vibrancy and colour to the spring's arts calendar, the exhibition will showcase over 500 of the best contemporary photographs from around the world from the past year, each taken by the winning and shortlisted photographers of the world’s largest photography competition.

From fine art landscape photography, to hard-hitting photojournalist, glossy commercial campaign to stunning shots of everyday life, the images from the Professional, Open, Youth and National Awards of the Sony World Photography Awards will fill the East and West Wings of Somerset House.

Vernisajul va avea loc luni,8 septembrie 2014, ora 19.00 in Studioul F64, Bucuresti, Bd. Unirii nr. 45, sector 3.
Expozitia se poate vizita până pe 14 septembrie 2014.

Atelierul din cadrul Festivalului de Fotografie Bucharest Photo Week va avea loc duminică, 7 septembrie 2014, ora 16:30, Studioul F64, str. Bucovina si luni, 8 septembrie 2014, orele 16:00-18:00, Plastilina.
In urma atelierului, fotografiile rezultate si selectate de Cristina Venedict impreuna cu un membru al echipei Bucharest Photo Week vor face parte din expozitia „Emotii”, care se va vernisa pe 11 septembrie, la Acuarela.

Bucharest Photo Week este un eveniment dedicat artei fotografice, care isi propune sa canalizeze energia si amploarea fenomenului fotografic. In perioada 5 – 14 septembrie 2014, intre Bld. Unirii si Soseaua Kiseleff se va crea un adevarat coridor fotografic. Expozitii, proiectii, întalniri, muzica si cei peste 100 de fotografi implicati in eveniment va vor astepta.

Clubul de Turism si Arte Escamonde Ploiesti organizeaza, în perioada 5-7 septembrie 2014 si cu sprijinul Asociatiei pentru Promovarea si Dezvoltarea Turismului Prahova, cea dea doua editie a Festivalului de Fotografie Secvente.

Festivalul vrea sa demonstreze înca o data forta fotografiei în societatea actuala, prin promovarea imaginilor si ideilor unor artisti români si internationali din mediul fotografic contemporan.

Exhibition at VSLO, Romania

I was selected to take part in a group exhibition VSLO – VAMA SUB LUMINI DE OSCAR 2014 with my series “mystic portraits“

I’ve always been fascinated by people. I like looking at them, studying their characteristics, their reaction, getting to know their stories. I believe each human being is unique, beautiful and unpredictable.
It usually happens to discover a face and ask myself “what is this person doing here, in our days?”. It seems like his/her face has a story that is from another time, and it seems like the modern days don’t fit right. Because every face has its story, I try to transmit, to encourage people through this series to never forget to dream and to try bringing out hidden parts that might make their lives even more beautiful. Live every second, minute, hour, day, year in harmony with them, as well as with everything from their surroundings.

The exhibition will be held from 22th of August to 31th of August 2014.

Pop-up exhibition at JURAPLATZ, Switzerland

Life Framer first edition pop-up exhibition, running April 19th – May 3rd 2014 at JURAPLATZ, Switzerland.

JURAPLATZ is a nonprofit independent Public Art Space and works as a satellite for international artists and festivals. Converted into an art-platform from a tram stop dating from the late ’30s, it is in the city of Biel/Bienne, the heart of the Swiss watch-making industry. JURAPLATZ was founded in October 2010 and has been hosting important exhibitions ever since; such as as Joan Fontcuberta (Hasselblad Award 2013) and Timo Arnall and Augustin Rebetez (Foam Magazine Talent 2013).

Group Exhibition at ThePrintSpace gallery in London

The Life Framer Exhibition is the culmination of the first edition of the Life Framer photography award.

The exhibition will showcase stunning contemporary work from 24 winning photographers, each selected by globally acclaimed judges across twelve months of diverse themes encompassing ‘Life’ at its most diverse.

The art will be presented in a non-linear ‘cloud’ like arrangement. The display will inter-weave distinct stories, situations and characters in a powerful and inspiring way.

The main show will take place at theprintspace gallery in London, from April 1ST to 22ND 2014, with a private view 18:00 - 22:00 on April 3RD, the opening ‘First Thursday’ of the season.

Group Exhibition | PhotoPlace Gallery

My work forgotten land as been chosen for the juried exhibition MYSTERIOUS VISIONS: DREAMS, FANTASIES, AND MIRAGES at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont.

Juror Emma Powell chose forty photographs for the gallery exhibition. In addition to being in the gallery exhibition, my work will also be available for viewing on the PhotoPlace Gallery website.

The exhibition will be on view at the gallery from April 23rd through May 18th. An artist's reception will be held on May 10th from 5-7 pm.

Award-winning photographer and educator Emma Powell specializes in photographs that balance on the fine line between reality and the dream. Her photographs have been shown in numerous exhibitions around the world and featured in many publications, including Diffusion Magazine, Super Massive Black Hole, Lenscratch, SHOTS Magazine, YET, SEITIES and others.  Her work is in a variety of public collections, among them the George Eastman House study collection and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Grup Exhibition at Leonard Gallery in New York City

My image "Closer to the Sun" has been selected by juror Thomas Werner as a Jurors Selection, in the FALL2012 New York Center for Photographic Art International - PEOPLE.

Winners and jurors selections will be presented in a group show at the 69 Leonard Gallery in the SOHO art district in New York city and an online gallery on the NYC4PA website

In addition, an exhibition catalog of the group show will be available and the gallery show will be listed and reviewed in a NY Gallery magazine.

Thomas Werner is an American Photographer with a B.A. in Photography from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and an MFA in New Media and Performance from Long Island University. He is a professor at Parsons and the New School for Design and is the owner of The Thomas Werner Gallery.  He works as a fine art and commercial photographer in New York City.

Thomas is a director on the ASMP National Board, he lectures internationally on Photography, Video, Education, Business, and the Art Market. He has worked with the U.S. State Department as a cultural representative in Russia, has been a photography consultant for COACH and Rodale Publishing and has curated gallery and museum exhibitions in the U.S and internationally.

Second Prize Digital Imagination

Juror Deborah Willis, Chair of the Photography and Imaging Department at NY university has selected my image, "Divorce" for Second Prize in the Digital Imagination category  and image "The First Snow" for Honorable Mention in Profesional Women Photographers PWP's 37th Anniversary International Women's Juried Exhibition.  My images will be featured in a special pull-out section of the Winter issue of IMPRINTS Magazine and in an online gallery on the PWP website.

f/22 Group Exhibition | MadArt Gallery | PhotoIreland Festival 2012

Some of my images will be included in the exhibition at the MadArt Gallery in the Ireland. The event is organised by gallery owner Sofia Monika Swatek and curated and co-ordinated by photographer and Prism Photo Magazine editor Karol Liver.

The exhibition will be held from 13th of July to 19th of July 2012. The opening night will be held on 12th of July 2012 at 6pm.
